THE WORK MUSEUM
The Work Museum
The De Felice – Sbriziolo donation is an anthology collection of objects of many different tools and tools of the past donated to the Province of Avellino, over the period of four years (2001-2004), and then transferred to the City of San Potito Ultra by the Architect Eirene Sbriziolo De Felice, to be the first museum of work on Irpinian land. The museum was housed in the cellars of the eighteenth century Palazzo of the Baroni Amatucci in the centre of the country on a surface of approximately 250 sqm. The museum also has an Baroni Amatucci archive, through which one learns the "strenuous" relationship between the largest landowner and the mass of his many settlers. Thanks to workers, the cellars of Baron today have not been abandoned and visitors can appreciate the intricate work of the precious miniatures depicting scenes of trades (the stonemason, the printer, the "cucipiatti" etc. ) or scenes of daily life. Not far from the museum, in a rural district "factory" (a symbol of a once thriving river economy) there is in an old nineteenth-century factory for the manufacture of iron and copper.
